The goal of this project was to rebuild the Frontiera website with a focus on performance, security, and simplified WooCommerce integration, all while maintaining the site’s familiar structure and visual identity. The client required a functional refresh of the existing WordPress site, preserving its layout while introducing modern optimizations and essential backend improvements.
The previous version of the site suffered from several technical and performance issues, including slow load times, media upload failures due to insufficient server memory, outdated plugins, missing product images, and limited SEO optimization. Minor security vulnerabilities, such as user enumeration exposure, also posed risks to site integrity.
To resolve these, WooCommerce was reconfigured to correctly display products and restore missing assets, ensuring a consistent shopping experience across devices. The server’s memory limit was increased, and outdated plugins were replaced with lightweight, future-proof alternatives. SSL configuration and access controls were hardened to address security gaps and tighten user role visibility.
Basic SEO best practices were also implemented to improve visibility, while backend maintenance workflows were streamlined to ensure long-term reliability. The result is a fast, secure, and future-proof e-commerce platform, cleanly updated without compromising the character of the original site.
