The website mmm-eetjesland.be required a full-scale redevelopment to resolve ongoing functionality issues and limitations that hindered performance, user experience, and operational efficiency. As a cooperative platform that connects local producers in the Flanders region with both private customers and business clients, the new solution needed to reflect the values of community, transparency, and flexibility, while introducing modern e-commerce standards.
The redevelopment focused on building a stable, scalable WordPress site powered by WooCommerce. The system was restructured to support role-based pricing, allowing B2B and B2C customers to see different prices based on their account type. Producers were given granular control to offer either or both pricing tiers, ensuring flexibility within the cooperative model.
A custom registration flow was introduced, ensuring users are onboarded into the correct customer group, while advanced search features were added to allow filtering not just by product, but also by producer, enhancing the platform’s usability for end-users.
Checkout logic was redesigned to reflect order thresholds. Orders under €50 prompt customers to choose a local pickup point via a dynamic dropdown menu, while orders above that threshold, or any B2B order, automatically qualify for home delivery, with clear messaging provided at each step of the purchase journey.
Each producer was assigned a private dashboard to manage their own product listings. Functions were added to allow temporary deactivation of items, vacation settings, and control over visibility. Order automation was built to generate detailed confirmation files, ideally in Excel format, immediately after purchase, complete with customer information, product quantities, and supplier data.
To support fulfillment workflows, a custom scheduler was configured to automatically email producers every Sunday with a consolidated list of the products they need to prepare for Tuesday deliveries. Meanwhile, an internal reporting module was developed to give the cooperative administrators insights into gross/net sales, product movement, and average order values, across daily, weekly, and monthly periods.
With a focus on automation, clean data flow, and user experience, the rebuilt site offers a professional, user-centric foundation that supports the region’s growing network of producers while removing the friction that once limited the platform’s potential.
